Transit Information Now Available At North Hanley Ticket Booth

Metro has added another destination where passengers can go and pick up transit schedules and information.  The North Hanley Metro Transit Center  Ticket Booth will now be staffed Monday – Friday from 6am – 2pm to provide route schedules and maps.  In addition, the Civic Center MetroLink Information Booth is extending its hours from 6am – 6 pm seven days a week.  Customers can pick up route schedules, maps and other important rider information.

The information booths at Civic Center and North Hanley are subject to closure if staff are not available.

    A good candidate would be stops that Metro built a “ticket office” it no longer uses. Shrewsbury is good candidate, as is Maplewood.

    Along those lines, I hope the information give out at the booths is better than that online. I dont know how tight the software tolerances are, but I continue to see cases where Trip Finder or Google Transit doesnt list a connection I can make. Biggest example I have is the 1 – on several trips during our cold snap, neither online source made the connection to catch a train, yet I was able to manually piece things together using printed time tables.

    Also, a little more info on the 32 would be helpful (and, for that matter, any of the now split routes). Several nights ago, I rode the 32 eastbound from the Maplewood stop. The headsign and number matched just fine for my connection from the train (at Maplewood). However, Ridefinder and GT both insisted I had to walk up to Laclede Station to catch this bus. I got on at Maplewood…only to have the bus turn WEST. Figuring I had somehow misread the headsign, I got off at Hanley, and ran up the hill to Laclede Station Rd…only to have the SAME BUS I WAS ON come pick me up. If you ride the bus REGULARLY, you likely know that the eastbound 32 goes WEST briefly, turns around just past Hanley, and goes east to pick up the passengers underneath the train overpass. I rarely ride that route (or its previous incarnation), so I had NO idea.

    Also, numbering on the signs along that route is horrid (and I know that isnt the only route with issues). They all have the old numbering, which, when you are questioning schedules online, doesnt help matters in the slightest.
