Metro to Operate Special LouFest Shuttle

LOU14_metro_contest_600x315The annual LouFest Music Festival in Forest Park will take place Sept. 6 and Sept. 7 and Metro transit is a great option for getting there.

Concert goers should take MetroBus or MetroLink to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station and then catch the #3 Forest Park Trolley to LouFest. If you show your LouFest ticket when you board the trolley, you will ride for free; if not, the trolley ride will cost you $2. You must have a valid Metro ticket or pass to ride MetroLink or MetroBus. After 5 p.m. each night, a free special LouFest shuttle will operate between the Forest Park-DeBalievere MetroLink Station and LouFest.

If you’re not sure about what MetroBus route or MetroLink station is closest to your home, our Trip Planner can help. If you prefer to ride your bicycle, there will be free bicycle parking right outside the main entrance. LouFest organizers remind you to bring your own lock.

There is still time to try to win 2-day passes to LouFest through our photo contest. To enter, photos must be posted to Instagram by Sunday night (Aug. 24).  Photos tagged correctly will be posted on our Facebook page for voting starting Aug. 25. The photo with the most votes on Facebook (“likes”) will win two 2-day tickets to LouFest 2014. The voting period will run from Monday (Aug. 25) through Sept. 1 and the winner will be announced on Sept. 2.

It should be a fun-filled weekend with 40 local, regional and national bands performing on four different stages. In addition to the music, LouFest will also feature several food vendors from around the St. Louis area. There will also be a Market Square where concert goers can check out art, threads and stylish accessories from the St. Louis creative community.

Is there a rack for bikes on the Trolley?

Jeff, the #3 Downtown Trolley has a two-bike rack in the front.

Sorry – I was asking about the Forest Park Trolley. Not sure if that is different.

Whoops! I meant the #3 Forest Park Trolley. (Both bus routes have bike racks available on a first come, first serve basis.)
